What Happens At Meetings?
We follow an agenda (usually prepared about a week before the meeting). Various people give reports on their areas, such as the President, Treasurer, Uniform Shop and Canteen Co-ordinators, and the School Principal. We talk about agenda items, ranging from updates on fundraising and social events, policies, decision making, anything that is a current issue. It’s a great way to find out what’s happening around the school, meet new people, and have a voice in your child’s school experience and community.
Will I Have To Join A Committee or Become A Member?
Nope. Come along, listen to what is discussed, learn about what’s happening. If you want to be involved with something, put your hand up. You will never feel pressured to do more than you are willing.
What Topics Are Suitable Agenda Items?
- YES general school business and policies
- YES fundraising ideas
- NO classroom, teaching, or social issues – these should be discussed with your child’s teacher or the principal directly.
