It’s Time To Join Us – Spring Fair 2018

it's our Spring Fair!

Volunteers put the community into community events.”
-Steven Wood Schmader, CEO of the International Festivals & Events Association

We need you to put the community into our School Community Spring Fair!

We are creating a group of volunteers to make our Spring Fair happen, we have lots of small jobs that need to be done. All we need from you is to “Do Just One Thing”.

If you have never coordinated or assisted on a Spring Fair, don’t panic – most of those who have already volunteered haven’t that much experience either. One in, all in!

In one way or another, we are here to help each other make the 2018 Spring Fair a huge success for our school and most importantly, our children! Come on and Share The Love!

Can you run a Stall?

Running a Stall can be super rewarding. If you have a few friends or family members it can be a fantastic way to help the Spring Fair. Fair Day procedures including how to collect Cash will be explained to you. Would you like to run a Stall? Do you have an idea for a stall?

Don’t be afraid to run a stall! It will bring out the best in you!

Did you know that children aged over 10 years can also help out (with Parent Permission, of course!). They are fully covered by the P & C’s insurance!

General Volunteers?

If you don’t know what you can do or where you can fit in, we have many roles to fill. There are a range of jobs where you can help. Some are small, some are big, some are simple, some will take more time and commitment.

Can you help with Spring Fair preparation (before the day)?

Some of the roles include:

♥  Volunteer Coordinator

♥  Publicity

♥  Sponsorship – We have various sponsorship packages available

♥  Sponsorship – small prizes for the children on various activities e.g. The Lego            Competition

♥  Donate edible items for our BBQ’s or Milk for our coffee

♥  Join the Steering Committee

♥  Sponsor our Advertising – in return you will receive free advertising on Spring Fair Day and across all our social media platforms

♥  Organising additional marquees, battery operated Eskies etc, etc…

On the Day Volunteers

We have many jobs that need to be done on the day. Can you help? Put your hand up for a couple of hours, you don’t need to give your whole day, just a few hours will also help. Some of the roles include:

  • Lighting – as this is a Twilight event, we will need to pack up and secure the premises in the dark! Can you assist in setting up lighting or providing additional lighting?
  • Manning a stall for a few hours
  • Any ideas, contact us!

Please contact with a job you can do, any questions or ideas. We simply would love to hear from you to save our Spring Fair!

Even ONE THING makes all the difference! THANK YOU and THANK YOU for giving us your precious time!

Spring Fair Newsletter No.4

Well, Spring Fair is only three Saturdays away! Our Spring Fair is fast approaching and the excitement is growing! We have been receiving a very positive results from the local business community who are supporting our Chocolate Wheel. So much so that we have decided to include a Silent Auction for some of the higher value prizes!

As a preview we have included the Rydges Hotel accommodation package in the Silent Auction but without a doubt the star attraction is a Cricket Bat donated by Australian Cricket. This bat is authenticated and signed by the 2014 South Africa V Australia  Australian Cricket Team including Team Captain Michael Clarke! So for all you sporting fans out there don’t forget to visit the P & C Pop-up Shop at the Fair to register your bid!

Thanks to our many volunteers who are giving their time to help us at the Spring Fair. Your support means that we are raising funds for our School Library and the Canteen!

We are still well short of the required man hours to make this Spring Fair a success! As a result we have had to reduce the number of activities that we wanted to have at the Fair! If you are able to offer any assistance whatsoever it would be highly appreciated! If you are able to assist, please contact us!!!!!

The sale of our prepaid Spring Fair SuperSaver Ticket has been slow! The SuperSaver represents great value for money for all of our school families and their guests.

The Spring Fair is an expensive event to run and we have tried very hard to keep the cost of the Fair to the bare minimum. Since its introduction to the Spring Fair the Supersaver was always competitively priced at $15. However we could not sustain that cost and sadly we have increased the ticket to $20.00. Without a doubt it still represents value for money!

We encourage you all to pre-purchase your Supersaver Ticket before it closes on Friday!

Thank you

Volunteers put the community into community events

Our Spring Fair is fast approaching and the excitement is growing! Thanks to our many volunteers who are giving their time to help us at the Spring Fair. Your support means that we are raising funds for our School Library and the Canteen!

However we are still well short of the required man hours to make this Spring Fair a success! We know we are asking for a lot and pushing the boundaries. The Spring Fair Committee is looking for Mums, Dads, older siblings (over the age of 10), grandparents and friends who can help out! Even if you are able to help for just for 30 minutes or so that would be wonderful! If you are able to assist, please contact us!!!!! We desperately need help on the following stalls and activities.

Rocket Launcher – a fun game for the kids to see how far they can launch a foam rocket
Jumping Castle
Lob the Dunny Roll – let’s see if you can lob a toilet toll into a toilet from a distance! Too easy!
Clean-up Help after the Fair
Canteen Assistants
Chocolate Wheel – selling tickets, spinning the wheel and handing out the prizes. Remember there is a major prize available to be given away!
Pre-Fair Set-up – decorations and lighting etc.
Face Painting – the coordinator needs at least two assistants to help her!
A Photographer and Assistant for our Photo Booth
Sponsorship and Prize sourcing
An electrician to ensure we don’t overload the power!

If you want to take on one of these roles then simply contact Glenys Rhodes on 0408619355 or email

Spring Fair Newsletter # 2

This is our second Spring Fair Newsletter which aims to provide families with important information in the lead up to the Spring Fair.

Spring Fair is an important fund raising activity for Tacking Point Public School and allows us to raise money which will be used to directly provide resources for our Library and the refurbishment of our School Canteen.

Spring Fair also provides a valuable connection to the local community with many local businesses donating goods or funds.

Please consider giving your time to assist in making the day a success.

We are still a long way from having sufficient volunteers to assist on stalls and activities so it is all the more important that parents put their hands up for these roles this year.

Without you, the Spring Fair will miss out on some traditional favourites. And we will end up losing some vital school funds. So we really need your help to take charge of these stalls.

A list of Committee roles and Stallholders that are needed is at the end of this newsletter. Please nominate.

We request you to step up to help and join our Spring Fair Community so we can together create another great event for our school and our children.

If you want to take on one of these roles then simply contact Glenys Rhodes on 0408619355 or email

Thank you.
